Before the upcoming general election in Ondo State, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu met with National and State Assembly candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other party stakeholders.

The meeting comes amid health concerns about Governor Akeredolu, despite assurances from his spokesperson, Richard Olatunde, that his principal was recovering quickly.

Governor Akeredolu announced dates for the party’s senatorial campaign rallies in the State at a meeting held at the Government House Ground in Alagbaka, Akure, while charging party leaders and members to work hard for the upcoming elections.

According to the governor, the Ondo South senatorial campaign rally will take place on January 23 in Okitipupa, while the Central senatorial campaign rally will take place on January 30, 2023 in Ondo town.

The governor, who is also the state party’s leader, announced that the Ondo North senatorial campaign rally will take place on February 6, 2023 in Owo, Owo local government area of the state.

Governor Akeredolu, who expressed confidence that the party would win, stated that the APC was the party to beat in the state.

Earlier, the party’s State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, thanked the governor for the recent successful presidential campaign rally in the state.

“According to reports, the rally is the best. We must maintain the pace. We’ve put our hands on the plough, and there’s no turning back now.

“The presidential election will be ours, as will the Senate and House of Representatives. We will win every seat in the House of Assembly.

“We must put in a lot of effort for this election.
People love us across the party’s organs because our people love the government. We will not be ignored. We have a trustworthy and formidable leader.

“We have the best candidates. We will provide the best possible outcome. We will have defeated Lagos State by the time the results are released. We’re talking about percentages when it comes to beating Lagos State. We will count the total number of voters and the percentage of those who voted.

“During the last presidential election, people thought we lost; we didn’t. Because this state is forward-thinking. There was a crisis at the time, but the party is now united under Governor Akeredolu,” Adetimehin said.
