Timini Egbuson, an actor, has confessed that the church had betrayed him in the past, prompting him to discontinue his attendance.
Despite his absence from church, he claims to have maintained a personal contact with God.
The Breaded Life star revealed this while appearing on Lilian’s Couch, a show presented by Lilian Afegbai.
“I feel like I and God have a personal relationship,” Egbuson remarked. In the past, the church has betrayed me. Like, I was a complete church boy. On Sundays when I was a teenager, I used to preach in the main church. Everything you believe I have today in terms of swag and anything I learnt in religion.
“Then I went to some other churches. But I just learned there are a lot of ruses. And I know it’s not a reason to give up because, well, obviously. So it’s really just a thing where I was like, well, let me discover this dude called God on my own. And that is exactly what we are doing right now.
“I’m seeing or talking to someone right now who introduced me to this whole Bible scheme. I mean, sometimes I just tell her, “Have you checked it this morning?”
“In terms of reading the Bible again and all that, I’m not really there yet but like a one-on-one relationship with my God.
“I was talking to him and said, ‘How far baba? This is what I’m doing, and He’s been guiding my decisions thus far. And it’s peaceful.”
