Insecurity: NSA Ribadu Reveals Federal Weapons in Criminal Hands

Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has revealed that many of the illegal weapons circulating across the country were originally owned by the Federal Government. Ribadu made this statement on Thursday during an arms destruction event organized by the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW) at the Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment in Abuja.

He explained that corrupt individuals within the security forces enabled these weapons to fall into the hands of terrorists, bandits, and other non-state actors. Ribadu strongly criticized the security personnel involved in arming these dangerous groups.

The NSA assured the public that the government is committed to tightening security measures and will take every possible action to restore peace and safety across the nation.
