The Serie A title race moved closer to a conclusion on Sunday as Inter Milan overcame a massive scare to defeat a resilient Como side 4-3. In a game of two halves, the league leaders rallied from two goals down to secure a victory that pushes them nine points clear at the top of the table. With only six matches remaining, the Nerazzurri took full advantage of second-placed Napoli’s draw earlier in the day to tighten their grip on the Scudetto.

The opening period belonged entirely to the hosts. Despite missing captain Lautaro Martinez due to a calf injury, Inter was expected to dominate, but surprise package Como had other plans. Alex Valle opened the scoring in the 36th minute, and Nico Paz doubled the lead just before the break, leaving the visitors stunned. However, the momentum shifted during stoppage time when Marcus Thuram turned in a cross to give Inter a lifeline.

The second half saw a complete tactical turnaround. Marcus Thuram leveled the score in the 49th minute following a significant defensive error by Como’s goalkeeper. The comeback was then spearheaded by Denzel Dumfries, who proved to be the difference-maker. He headed Inter into the lead from a Hakan Calhanoglu free kick before smashing home his second of the night in the 72nd minute. Although Lucas Da Cunha converted a late penalty for Como to set up a frantic finish, Inter’s defense held firm.

This result leaves Inter Milan on 75 points, while Como remains in fifth place, narrowly trailing Juventus for a Champions League spot. While the home crowd witnessed a valiant effort, the clinical nature of Inter’s stars ultimately proved why they are the favorites to be crowned champions.

With a nine-point lead and only a handful of games left, do you think Inter Milan has already effectively sealed the Serie A title?
