Babatunji Wusu –

The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) has issued a statement clarifying that no directive has been given to employees regarding changes to the financial institutions registered on the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) for their salary accounts.

In the statement released in Abuja, the OAGF emphasized its commitment to the well-being of workers and assured that it would not issue any directives that could mislead or cause unnecessary concern among employees. The OAGF clarified that any application to change a salary account is a personal decision for each worker and noted that there has been no general directive mandating such changes.

Additionally, the OAGF called on financial institutions to adopt strategies that enhance customer confidence and ensure the efficient fulfillment of obligations to those whose salaries are managed through these institutions. It also expressed confidence in the statutory agencies responsible for assessing the health and viability of financial institutions.

Bawa Mokwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations, advised employees with legitimate reasons to change their salary accounts to adhere to the official procedures established for such requests.
