Iran has issued a strong warning to the United States, declaring that it will punish former U.S. President Donald Trump for the killing of its Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

The Islamic Republic delivered the warning in a post on X on Saturday, one week after Khamenei was reportedly killed in an airstrike launched by the United States and its ally, Israel.

In the statement, Iranian authorities vowed not to relent until those responsible are held accountable.

“We will punish Trump for assassinating Supreme Leader Khamenei. We will never let him go,” the post read.

The threat comes amid escalating tensions following the outbreak of war on February 28. Reports indicate that several Iranians have been killed since hostilities began, while six United States soldiers have also lost their lives in the conflict.

Reacting to the development, an X user identified as @sixtoninee claimed that the United States and Israel had failed in their attempt to weaken Iran’s leadership structure.

“Trump deserves this and I’m sure Iran will do this. Persians have history of being brave. They won’t let it go,” the user wrote.

The commenter further argued that efforts to force a regime change in Iran have backfired, claiming that the conflict has instead strengthened the country’s leadership.
