Pastor Yohanna Buru and renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmed Gumi, both from Kaduna, were honored for fostering tolerance and concord among the populace at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement (Christ the King Cathedral) earlier.
The two were recognized as “peace ambassadors” because of their unwavering commitment to promoting peace in the area.
Pastor Christopher Solomon, the church’s resident shepherd, acknowledged the clerics in his remarks and stated that Gumi and Buru were chosen because to their outstanding services to humanity and their steadfast pursuit of peace.
Pastor Solomon stated, “Their efforts in fostering better understanding and promoting religious tolerance have played a significant role in mitigating religious extremism and attacks among adherents of different faith-based organizations.”
The recipients of the honors conveyed their appreciation to God Almighty for awarding them with them.
Buru and Gumi also exhorted Christians and Muslims to constantly pursue cooperation and peaceful coexistence.
They urged the federal and state governments to address the current security issues that are affecting various facets of society. They also expressed their gratitude to the church for recognising their work. Along with their prayers, the recipients offered up peace and stability for the nation as a whole.
