The national government says it is proposing regulation to boycott the utilization of creature skin, privately known as Kpomo, in the country to resuscitate tanneries.

Muhammad Yakubu, chief general, Nigerian Foundation of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST), Zaria, expressed this in Abuja on Sunday. He said the suit was important to resuscitate the lethargic calfskin industry in the country.

He said the propensity for eating animal skin, which has no healthy benefit, ought to be halted to save the business and lift the country’s economy. The chief general added that the establishment, as a team with partners in the business, would move toward the public gathering and state legislatures to bring out regulation forbidding “Kpomo” utilization.

“Supposedly, Nigerians are the main individuals on the planet that exaggerate skin as food, all things considered, Kpomo has no dietary benefit.
