Babatunji Wusu –
A priceless chain that was taken in Calabar is said to have been returned by well-known artist Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, better known by his stage name Mayorkun.
According to The Nation, Mayorkun had previously declared that he would never go back to the state capital of Cross Rivers after his multi-million naira jewelry was taken while he was giving a performance there.
Subsequently, he declared a N5 million prize for anyone who might assist in finding the missing artifacts.
Reactions to the development had been divided among Nigerians, city dwellers, and his coworkers.
The well-known musician Iyanya had offered a prize for whoever returned the stolen jewelry and begged everyone in possession of it to do so.
Iyanya declared on social media that one of the pilfered necklaces had been restored shortly after the incident was reported.
In a lucky turn of events, Iyanya declared once more on Thursday that another piece of Mayorkun’s jewelry had been located and given back.
Iyanya posted a video exhibiting the found jewelry on his social media channel to spread the word about the discovery.
Iyanya expressed his appreciation for the second pendant’s return and gave respect to everyone who helped with its retrieval.
The artist disclosed that the pendant was given to Hon. Effiong Ekpenyong, Special Advisor for Events Management at the Governor’s Office in Calabar.
The pendant was given to Hon. Effiong Ekpenyong after being first acquired by Duke Emmanuel at Hit FM Calabar.
Iyanya wrote: “Thank you to my Calabar people for doing what’s right. # Mayorkun’s second pendant has been found.
“This morning,g we got a call that it was returned to #HitFMCalabar and was received by Mr. Duke Emmanuel who later transferred the pendant to Hon.
