Tunji Wusu –
Malam Umar Namadi, the governor of Jigawa State, has sworn in 16 commissioners to make up his executive council and given them the mandate to carry out their duties in accordance with the values of public trust, probity, accountability, and fear of Allah.
The new commissioners were sworn in after being selected by the State House of Assembly following the governor’s nomination.
Governor Namadi stated in a statement shortly after administering the oath of office and assigning ministries to the commissioners that each commissioner had been carefully chosen based on their record of honesty, commitment, professionalism, and selfless devotion to humanity.
“As a new governor, I require talented individuals who will aid me in keeping my campaign promises and advancing Jigawa. Please don’t let me down; God in His infinite mercy and wisdom chose you.
“However, it is important to state that this administration cherishes hard work, dedication, commitment, loyalty, and selfless service,” he added.
In addition to stating that he would not accept any betrayal of the people’s confidence, he reminded the commissioners that public service is a public trust.
He pointed out that the Jigawa people expect his administration to develop policies and programs that will enhance their socioeconomic situation, and that they can only do this by carrying out their duties in accordance with the standards of accountability, probity, loyalty, and prudent management of public resources.
