The Jigawa State Government has swiftly suspended Auwalu Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties, following allegations of an affair with a married woman in an uncompleted building. The suspension, effective immediately, was announced on Saturday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Bala Ibrahim.
“Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi has approved the immediate suspension of Auwalu Dalladi Sankara, pending an investigation into the accusations made by Kano State Hisbah,” Ibrahim stated.
The suspension comes as part of a broader effort to thoroughly investigate the claim, ensuring transparency and safeguarding the integrity of the state administration. Governor Namadi remains committed to accountability and high ethical standards in governance, the SSG emphasized.
The government reassured the public that the suspension is a precautionary step, intended to support a fair and unbiased investigation.
“We take all allegations seriously and remain focused on maintaining the trust of Jigawa citizens in their government,” the statement concluded.
