John Mahama has officially taken the oath of office as Ghana’s new president in a grand inauguration ceremony graced by global leaders.
Recall that Mahama, a former governor, emerged victorious in the December 8th, 2024 presidential election, defeating his closest contender, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
This marks a political comeback for Mahama, who previously served as Ghana’s 12th president from 2011 to 2017. His re-election has rekindled optimism among his supporters.
Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, departed Lagos on Monday to join the dignitaries attending the historic event, which is currently underway in Accra, Ghana’s bustling capital.
