When they gathered at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos to await the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari and the party’s flag bearer, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, for the flag-off of the party’s campaign, supporters and friends of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) displayed their love and preference.
For an event that was scheduled to start at 10 am, people started filling the space as early as 7 am.
The 45,000-seat stadium was already completely full as of 9:30 am.
Following the State Government’s declaration of a public holiday, there were more people in attendance at the stadium. The chance to participate was presented to civil and government employees.
The stadium eventually developed into a commercial hub as markets for consumer goods appeared. Particularly, pure water, soft drink, newspaper, and food sellers all did excellent business.
In Jos city, at least 10,000 security personnel were on duty, with at least 5,000 of them stationed inside and outside the stadium.
The wives of Senator Kashim Shettima, the vice presidential candidate for the APC, and Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the party’s presidential nominee, arrived at the stadium together.
A delegation led by Gov. Simon Lalong, Director General of the APC Campaign Council, is waiting for key APC leaders at the Yakubu Gowon Airport in Heipang, Jos.
The stadium’s crowd is joyfully anticipating the entrance of President Muhammadu Buhari, Tinubu, and the national executives of APC.
