JUDGE PREVENTS PDP FROM REMOVING GOVERNOR ORTOM

A temporary injunction has been obtained by the Benue High Court prohibiting Benue Governor Samuel Ortom from being expelled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), its National Working Committee (NWC), National Executive Committee (NEC), or its National Officers (elected or appointed).

Following a lawsuit with case number MHC/46/2023, which was filed before the court on Wednesday, February 16th, 2023, Justice A. I. Itoyonyiman issued the order on Thursday.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are the first and second Defendants/Respondents in the case, respectively, with Ortom serving as the Plaintiff/Applicant.

A hearing on this matter has been scheduled for February 24, 2023.
