Babatunji Wusu –

A retired Major-General was kidnapped by gang members in the southern Nigerian state of Imo.

Maj Gen RC Duru (rtd), the victim’s only name, was kidnapped last weekend in Imo State’s Owerri North Local Government Area.

The shooters ambushed the Major-General while he was driving himself in a black Mercedes Benz ML vehicle, according to Sahara Reporters. He was taken hostage by four people in a Toyota Sienna, according to a signal obtained by Sahara Reporters.

His car was taken by the kidnappers, and checkpoints were alerted. Before it was turned off, his phone number, 0803**********, was traceable to Mba Itoli in Imo State. The general is being rescued, while searches are still being made for the kidnappers.

Everyone is urged to use their contacts (while remaining discreet) to try to accelerate the kidnapped general’s return. Both NDC 18 and the 33rd Regular are comprised of Maj Gen Duru.
