Alhaji Asari Dokubo, a famous Niger Delta politician and former leader who agitated for the development of the oil-rich region, is meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Dokubo is well known for being one of the President’s most vociferous supporters during the presidential campaigns.
The President is said to be meeting with Dokubo as part of ongoing meetings with opinion leaders from the Niger Delta region of the country, however the agenda for the meeting’s details is not yet known.
One of the main economic goals of the Tinubu administration is to increase oil and gas production, and one strategy to do that is to eradicate the threat of oil theft.
The former managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Timi Alaibe, and the former director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) were among those the President met with earlier in the week. Dakuku Peterside, MD.
