The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) leadership is engaged in a protracted discussion about whether or not to call off the union’s eight-month-old strike.
This was confirmed to The Nation by an ASUU member who serves on the National Executive Council.

As at the time this report was filed, the meeting was still going on.

According to the NEC member, the meeting will take place at the University of Abuja’s national ASUU headquarters.

According to the NEC member, the majority of ASUU branches resolved to suspend the strike in accordance with the ruling of the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division.

A formal stance would be disclosed to the public at the conclusion of the meeting on Friday, according to the ASUU chairman.

ASUU went on strike on February 14, 2022, to emphasize its demands.
