• Prince Owoade was announced as the Alaafin-elect on Friday, following the passing of the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III two years ago.

On Monday, Governor Seyi Makinde formally presented the certificate and staff of office to the newly appointed Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade. The ceremony, held at the Oyo State Government Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, marked an important milestone in the leadership transition of the Oyo Kingdom.

This event follows the recent announcement by the state government on Friday, designating Prince Owoade as the Alaafin-elect. He succeeds the late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, the 44th Alaafin, who passed away two years ago.
