longest individual cooking marathon, clocking in at 93 hours and 11 minutes.
Guinness said in a statement on Tuesday that seven hours were taken out of her final total time following a careful examination of all the evidence.
The statement said, in part, that Hilda “attempted to set a record of 100 hours, but almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she erroneously took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early in the attempt.”
“With all ‘longest marathon’ records, the participant is permitted a five-minute rest break for every continuous hour of activity,” claims Guinness. If not taken, these rest pauses might build up. The only times Hilda may rest or use the restroom during the effort were at those hours.
Hilda broke the previous record of 87 hours 45 minutes set by Indian chef Lata Tondon in 2019 with a total cooking time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.
All foods must be consumed after cooking, according to Guinness, who listed this as one of the most crucial guidelines for its food-related record attempts.
