The Senate, on Tuesday, resolved to organize a national summit on insecurity to address the security challenges facing the country. The resolution followed a motion by Senator Ayo Akinyelure (PDP, Ondo) on the state of insecurity in the country.  Moving the motion, Akinyelure said the insecurity situation in the country had reached an alarming level.  Senate President, Ahmad Lawan said an all-inclusive summit would be organized to address the insecurity challenges in the country.  The Senate had, on February 2018, organized a summit to address the insecurity in the country.
