Ademola Adeleke was legitimately elected as the governor of Osun State in the gubernatorial election that took place on July 16, 2022, according to the Abuja-based court of appeal.

The verdict was delivered on March 24 by a three-judge panel.

In its ruling on Adeleke’s appeal, the panel of judges stated that the electoral tribunal erred in finding that Gboyega Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress had established their claim of excessive voting.

Remember how the Osun Governorship Election Tribunal ruled in January that Oyetola had the evidence necessary to establish that there had been over voting in some of the polling places?

Since Oyetola was duly elected governor of Osun, the majority judgment of the tribunal ordered INEC to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Adeleke and issue a new one to Oyetola.
