Tunji Wusu –
At the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu met with Shell Global Upstream Director Ms. Zo Yujnovich.
The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, attended the meeting as well.
President Tinubu’s meeting is his first engagement following the Sallah celebrations and his journeys to France on June 20 and London on June 24.
Yujnovich has been a member of the Shell Executive Committee since 2021 and began serving as the Upstream Director on July 1.
Around 11:45 am, she and three other Shell representatives arrived at the Aso Rock Villa. She was then brought into the President’s office building for the meeting that was due to begin at 12:00 pm.
It was learned that the meeting was a part of on-going discussions with leaders in the oil and gas industry since his administration joined the project.
Since his administration stopped providing gasoline subsidies on May 29, it is a part of ongoing discussions with leaders in the oil and gas industry.
At the State House, the President had previously met with Mr. Liam Mallon, Mr. Richard Laing, and Mrs. Adesua Dozie, who were Exxon Mobil executives.
He also had meetings with other influential people from the oil-rich Niger Delta, such as Dr. Dakuku Peterside and Timi Alaibe, the former director general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency and managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NNDC).
