The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Director of Operations, Mohammed Umar has resumed as the new acting chairman of the agency.

This followed an indictment by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.

It was gathered that Umar was chosen by the “EFCC’s hierarchy” after the remover of Magu in office.

Magu is currently undergoing probe with the presidential committee on activities of EFCC.

On Monday, Magu was picked up by security personnels said to be from the Department of State Services (DSS) and taken to the Presidential Villa, Abuja as part of the ongoing investigation.

An unconfirmed source said there had been moves to install the Secretary, Ola Olukoyede, as the chairman pending the suspension of Ibrahim Magu.

However, Olukoyede was not favoured as he is a civilian.
