On Thursday night, relief spread across parts of Kaduna State as the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company briefly restored power, bringing a few hours of light amid a prolonged blackout. Many local businesses dependent on electricity had been forced to close due to the extended outage, which affected several northern states.
Earlier, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) confirmed the restoration of power at 4:56 p.m. Wednesday. TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah stated that the reactivated Apir-Lafia 330kV transmission line now transmits bulk power to Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Gombe, Lafia, Makurdi, and Jos, signaling a hopeful development for affected areas.
