The Kaduna State Police Command achieved a significant breakthrough in curbing kidnapping and illegal arms possession through targeted operations in Kaduna State. Acting swiftly on a distress report from a community member in Ungwan Ninzom, Jagindi Tasha village, the command successfully rescued Hussaini Ibrahim—a kidnapping victim wounded by a gunshot—and arrested four suspects directly connected to his abduction. The suspects were found to possess one genuine English-type AK-47 and three fabricated rifles, underscoring the dangerous armament of criminal gangs terrorizing the region.

Further, in a parallel security operation on July 23, 2025, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit intercepted a suspicious package containing a fabricated AK-47 rifle hidden inside a sack in Kaduna. Two individuals, Abdulmumin Sani and Naziru Musa, arrested while attempting to receive the firearm in Gusau, Zamfara State, are now in police custody pending arraignment.

Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad commended the diligent efforts of the security operatives, emphasizing the command’s unwavering resolve to dismantle criminal networks and enhance public safety. He appreciated the influence of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, in supporting the ongoing battle against crime within Kaduna State.

These successes illustrate ongoing proactive measures by the Kaduna Police Command to disrupt kidnapping syndicates and arms trafficking, reinforcing the state’s security framework and boosting confidence among residents. Investigations remain active as the command works to apprehend additional members of these criminal groups for prosecution.
