Yusuf Umar Datti, the member representing Kura/Madobi/Garun Malam Federal Constituency in Kano State, has resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a resignation letter dated 30 April 2026 and addressed to the party chairman in Tanawa Ward, Kura Local Government Area, Datti said his decision takes immediate effect.

In the letter, he wrote: “I write to formally tender my resignation as a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), effective immediately from Thursday, 30 April, 2026.”

He said it had been a privilege to belong to the party but added that “recent developments at the national level have made it untenable” for him to continue his participation or contribute meaningfully to party activities.

Datti stated that he remained committed to serving his constituents, adding that his dedication to public service would continue “irrespective of the path” he chose.

“As the representative of the good people of Kura/Madobi/Garun Mallam Federal Constituency, I remain committed to making the necessary sacrifices to improve the lives of my constituents,” he wrote.

He thanked the party for the opportunity to serve and wished it success in its future endeavours.
