In a significant drug bust, the Kano State Police Command intercepted a mini truck transporting six large bales of suspected tramadol tablets concealed under bags of cement. The estimated street value of the drugs is over N150 million.
The interception occurred during a well-coordinated sting operation in Alharini village, located in the Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State. The truck, initially believed to be carrying only cement, was thoroughly searched by police operatives, who uncovered the illicit cargo hidden beneath the bags.
Two suspects, Imrana Rabiu, the truck driver from Bene town in Kebbi State, and Muntari Shuaibu from Kofar Gabas in Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State, were arrested in connection with the trafficking.
This seizure is part of the Kano Police Command’s continued efforts to clamp down on drug trafficking and related crimes in the state. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to working alongside other security agencies to eliminate criminal activities and safeguard the region.
