Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved a minor reshuffle in his cabinet to enhance the implementation of his administration’s “Building Your Future” agenda. As part of the changes, Malik Anas has been appointed as the new commissioner for the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. Anas holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Bayero University, Kano, and has previously served as the state’s Accountant-General. He is also an active member of professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
Additionally, Bello Husaini Kagara, who was previously in charge of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, will now lead the Ministry of Finance. Bashir Tanimu Gambo, formerly the Finance Commissioner, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Further reshuffling includes Yusuf Rabi’u Jirdede, who has moved from the Ministry of Special Duties to head the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment. Meanwhile, Adnan Nahabu has been reassigned from Commerce, Trade and Investment to lead the Ministry of Special Duties.
Governor Radda has urged the newly appointed and reassigned commissioners to focus on the effective execution of their duties and align their efforts with the state’s development agenda. He specifically tasked Anas with ensuring that the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning contributes meaningfully to the administration’s long-term vision.
