A delegation from Katsina State recently visited the Qatari Embassy in Abuja to explore potential investment opportunities and strengthen cultural ties with Qatar. Led by Special Adviser on Banking and Finance, Bilkisu Sulaiman Ibrahim, the team sought to enhance the partnership between the two regions under the leadership of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda.
Ibrahim emphasized Katsina State’s openness to foreign investment, particularly in sectors such as mining, health, and education. She highlighted the state’s commitment to fostering sustainable development through cultural preservation and the strengthening of international partnerships.
Qatar’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Ali Ghanem Al-Hajri, expressed his country’s continued support for Katsina State, pointing to Qatar Charity’s ongoing initiatives in Daura as a testament to their productive relationship. The Ambassador also expressed his intention to visit the state to further solidify the partnership.
The delegation, which included key figures such as Mr. Alex Obiora (Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora), Dr. Kabir Ali (Executive Director of the History and Culture Bureau), and Ahmed Mohammad (CEO of Katsina Football Academy), also discussed potential support for Tsangaya, an initiative aimed at providing education for out-of-school children. Additionally, opportunities for heritage and cultural exchange programs were explored as part of the discussions.
