Three kidnapped ad hoc workers at the Katsina office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have been released by their abductors on Sunday.
This was made known in a statement on Monday by the spokesman for the Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah.
He said: “On Sunday, March 10, 2019, around 9pm, the three abducted INEC ad hoc workers were released by their abductors.
“They have been taken to the Danmusa Hospital for medical check-up and later rejoined their respective families. Investigation is in top gear with a view to arresting the hoodlums.”
The three ad hoc workers whose names are withheld were abducted during Saturday’s governorship and the state House of Assembly elections.
A policeman along with an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps at the Danmusa and Kankara local government area were also killed by the gunmen.
