Friends of former Ogun State Television journalist Kitan Oyesiku have renewed calls for justice following the Kitan Oyesiku murder, urging authorities to identify and prosecute those responsible for her death.
The retired broadcaster was found dead alongside her security guard at her home in the Kobape area of Abeokuta. Police also reported that her Lexus RX300 was missing after the attack.
However, Ogun State Police Command said officers later recovered the vehicle during a night operation. Investigators have since launched a full probe into the incident.
On Monday, Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni visited the crime scene and received updates from detectives. He pledged that officers would pursue every lead and ensure those behind the crime face justice.
Meanwhile, friends of the late journalist described the Kitan Oyesiku murder as a cruel and senseless act. In a statement signed by Oluwaseun Boye, they said Oyesiku was a peaceful and compassionate woman whose death had devastated family members and friends.
They urged the Ogun State Government, police authorities and other security agencies not to allow the case to fade away. According to them, justice must be visible and swift to reassure the public that violent crimes will not go unpunished.
Furthermore, they appealed to members of the public to provide useful information that could help investigators make arrests.
The group also commended the police for progress made so far and encouraged detectives to maintain momentum until every suspect linked to the Kitan Oyesiku murder is identified, arrested and prosecuted.
Police say investigations remain ongoing as officers continue efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killings.
