Tunji Wusu –

313 students will be dropping out of the Kogi State Polytechnic in Lokoja due to poor academic performance in the first semester of the 2022–2023 academic year, according to the academic board.

During a meeting held on June 22, 2023 in the 200 Twin Lecture Theater, Main Campus, Lokoja, this decision was made after reading the report of the Academic Board Central Result Verification Committee.

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, Rector of the Polytechnic, who said that the withdrawal was required to uphold high academic standards and create excellent academic representatives.

Dr. Usman thanked the Central Result Verification Committee’s chairman and members as well as the entire Academic Board for their unwavering commitment to maintaining academic excellence.

He exhorted the Deans of Schools, Heads of Departments, and Heads of Units to always demonstrate capable leadership.

Dr. Usman further suggested that the students make the most of the available learning resources. In addition, he exhorted them to follow the law and abstain from vices both on and off campus.
