Adegoke Fayoade has been assigned to the Lagos State Police Command as the next commissioner by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun.
Olumuyiwa Adejobi, using his official X handle, tweeted about the development on Tuesday and congratulated Fayoade on his deployment.

 

“IGP deploys CP Adegoke Fayoade to Lagos Command. Lagos has a new commissioner of Police. Congrats to my boss, Adegoke Fayoade,” Adejobi wrote.

that as the nation prepares for the Yuletide holiday, he is being deployed.

Five fatalities have been reported by the Anambra State Police Command as a result of a shooting at a nightclub in Oba, within the state’s Idemili South Local Government Area.

Aderemi Adeoye, the state’s police commissioner, disclosed that the victims included club patrons, a bouncer, and local vigilantes. The club owner was also abducted.

Commissioner Adeoye expressed regret for the occurrence and pledged to find the person(s) in charge.

“We received a distress call at approximately two in the morning on Monday. Local vigilance members and police officers were led to the scene by the DPO Oba Division, but the attackers had already left,” he stated.

“The event occurred after the police Rapid Response Squad from Awkuzu departed the region, where they were on patrol from 6 p.m. to midnight before departing for other parts of the state.

Five people were slain: a bouncer, two clubbers, and two members of the vigilance group. In the process, the hotel’s owner was kidnapped.
