Two Lagos State House of Assembly members, Lanre Afinni and Sylvester Ogunkelu, are under intense police interrogation over their alleged roles in the chaotic power struggle that led to the removal of Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.

Ogunkelu has been detained, while Afinni secured administrative bail due to health concerns. The lawmakers are accused of destroying government property in the Assembly chambers during Obasa’s controversial ousting on January 13.

While Obasa rejects his removal as unconstitutional, the Assembly insists on its decision, vowing to resist any attempts to destabilize the House. The political showdown continues.
