LAGOS GOVERNMENT UNCOVERS ANOTHER UNDER-BRIDGE APARTMENT IN IKOYI.

The Lagos State Government discovered another unlawful colony under the Osborne Bridge in the South West state’s Ikoyi district.
Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, announced this in a post with videos on his X account on Thursday.
Wahab stated that the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESCO), also known as KAI, has initiated an immediate clearance operation of the illegal encampment.

Sharing videos, Wahab stated, “Another illegal encampment was uncovered under the Osborne Bridge in Ikoyi.

“Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps #LAGESCOfficial (KAI) commenced immediate clearance operation.”

This development comes only hours after Wahab described a similar settlement under the Dolphin Estate Bridge in Ikoyi, where tenants were purportedly paying annual rates of N250,000.

He stated that the under-bridge residence had 86 partitioned rooms ranging in size from “10×10” to “12×10”.

Wahab added that the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources’ enforcement team had effectively removed all constructions from beneath the bridge, including a container used for unlawful activities.

He added, “A total of 86 rooms, partitioned into 10×10 and 12×10, and a container used for various illegal activities were discovered under the Dolphin Estate Bridge.”

“They have all been removed by the enforcement team of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources”
