Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has suspended his Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Wale Ajetunmobi, after controversial remarks made on social media. Ajetunmobi, in a now-deleted post on X on November 23, claimed that several individuals who were involved in the 2020 burning of Television Continental (TVC) had been “hunted down and executed.”

In a statement issued on Tuesday, November 26, Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, confirmed the suspension. The statement described Ajetunmobi’s remarks as a misrepresentation of facts, specifically concerning a past incident.

The governor made it clear that his administration strongly condemns any form of extra-judicial punishment and will not be associated with such actions. He reaffirmed that this type of behavior is not aligned with the values of his administration.
