The Lagos State Government has taken decisive action against noise pollution by sealing several businesses, including the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). According to Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, the closures are part of ongoing efforts to create a healthier and more sustainable environment for all residents of Lagos.
The enforcement operation, led by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), targeted multiple establishments across areas such as Mushin, Amuwo Odofin, and Okota Isolo. The businesses sealed include Daily Bakery, Gak Universal Allied Limited, Ideal Standard, Franjane Royal Suites, Golden Haven Resort & Suites, Festival Hotel Conference Center & Spa, FS Service Centre, and Moulin Rouge Ventures at Olivia Mall.
These businesses were shut down for failing to adhere to environmental regulations, despite receiving prior notices from LASEPA. Wahab reiterated the agency’s determination to uphold environmental laws and ensure the well-being of Lagosians. He assured the public that LASEPA will continue its efforts to maintain a cleaner, quieter, and more sustainable city.
