The popular and the largest fruit market known as Jakande market in the Ketu area of the state was on Friday threw into disarrayed by the actions of the Lagos State Task Force.
The demolition of the market was carried out by armed police men with not less than 20 police van and bulldozers.
According to the market men and women of Jakande market, the action came as unexpected.
Though some of the people around said noticed has been served to them for about five years now.
It was gathered that the leaders of the market had some time ago collected the sum of five thousand naira (#5,000) from shop owners, and also a monthly five hundred naira (#500) from every individuals selling in the market, the moneys was said to be for the development of the market.
Access to the market was denied by the security men.
