The Lagos State Taskforce has officially declared road-blocking for parties and religious gatherings illegal, pledging to enforce strict penalties against violators. In a statement on Tuesday, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, the agency’s Director of Press & Public Affairs, condemned this widespread practice, which disrupts traffic and inconveniences residents.

CSP Adetayo Akerele, the Taskforce Chairman, voiced strong concern over the increasing trend of using public roads for private events, calling it a serious safety and security risk. He pointed to a recent incident on Raymond Njoku Street in Ikoyi, where officers intervened to clear an obstructive event, leading to the arrest of key organizers.

The Taskforce reiterated its commitment to ensuring free traffic flow and maintaining order across Lagos State.
