On Monday, the Lagos State Taskforce confiscated 70 vehicles for what it described as “flagrant violation” of the Lagos State traffic law. According to a statement from Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, Director of Public Affairs for the Taskforce, the vehicles were seized during coordinated operations targeting areas where reckless driving by commercial transporters often leads to traffic jams and public disruption.
The Taskforce Chairman, CSP Adetayo Akerele, reiterated the agency’s commitment to enforcing traffic laws, warning that violators would not be given “any breathing space.” He emphasized, “Traffic logjams are not natural but are caused by road recklessness,” urging motorists to cooperate with regulations to ensure safety and order in Lagos.
Enforcement operations took place at Okuta road junction in Bariga, Oba Akran road in Ikeja, and Ladipo by Five Star along the Oshodi-Apapa expressway.
