In order to restore order and clear up the trash left by demonstrators, the Lagos State Rapid Reaction Squad has arrived in the Ibafo region of Ogun State.

On the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, CSP Yinka Egbeyemi’s RRS crew could be seen clearing the road of burned-out tires.

This information was included in the update posted to the Rapid Response Squad’s official Twitter account, @rrslagos767. The message said: “Our authorities, lead by our commander, CSP Yinka Egbeyemi, are currently in Ibafo due to information that hoodlums stopped the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, causing protracted gridlock to the Otedola Bridge.

“Our cops are cleaning up tire debris that the thugs left behind. It’s a peaceful place.

Communities in Ogun had started to protest the lack of new naira notes and petrol.

The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway’s Mowe terminus had been blocked down by demonstrators, forcing drivers and passengers to turn around.

They also refused police assistance and made threats to set fire to the neighborhood police station.
