The remains of an elder statesman and former minister in the second republic, Alhaji Magaji Mu’azu (Ubandoman Gombe), were on Monday laid to rest at Bajoga road burial ground after a funeral prayer at the Gombe Emir’s Palace. Ubandoma passed on Sunday around 7:30pm after a protracted illness, at the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH), Gombe where he was receiving treatment for some months. His remains were interred around 4:45pm after a funeral prayer led by Chief Imam of Gombe Central Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Pindiga. The funeral prayer was attended by hundreds of sympathizers who thronged to the court yard of the palace to pay their last respect to the elder statesman. Dignitaries that attended the funeral prayers includes; the Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Audu Sule Katagum, Chief of Staff of Gombe Government House, Alhaji Ahmed Yayari, Emirs of Dukku and Funakaye, many traditional title holders from Gombe emirate as well as government functionaries.
