The crisis rocking the Lagos State House of Assembly has deepened as the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa on Monday disbanded a committee set up to resolve the impasse that led to the removal of two principal officers and the suspension of two others.
Obasa said there is no going back on the removal and suspension of the lawmakers.
According to him, there was no more need for the Ibrahim Layode committee set up over the weekend to resolve the impasse with the affected lawmakers.
Obasa said this was because of publications on the crisis over the weekend, especially the interview with the removed Chief Whip, Hon. Rotimi Abiru published in the Punch.
The House recently removed two principal officers over what Obasa called insubordination and gross misconduct.
Two of its principal officers are the Chief Whip of the House, Rotimi Abiru and the Deputy Majority Leader, Olumuyiwa Jimoh.
Also, two members of the House, Moshood Oshun and Kazeem Raheem Adewale were suspended indefinitely during plenary.
