Babatunji Wusu –
As the nation commemorates 25 years of continuous democracy, the National Assembly is prepared to welcome President Bola Tinubu.
This occurs amid the confusion surrounding Tinubu’s appearance before the National Assembly caused by remarks made by two presidential spokespeople.
On Tuesday, May 28, President Tinubu will speak before a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday in honor of Nigeria’s 25th anniversary of democracy, according to a statement made by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga, via his X handle.
The report was also verified by Sani Magaji, the Clerk of the National Assembly.
Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, disputed these assertions, calling the material “false and unauthorized.”
He clarified that the event was not planned by the Office of the President.
Despite the misunderstanding, lawmakers were apparently observed on Wednesday morning arriving at the Joint Sitting location—the House of Representatives chamber.
Vanguard claims that because all employees are checked before being permitted entry into the property, security is excellent.
The White House, where the two Chambers are located, has a new entrance, and the complex has a fresh appearance as well.
There are also prominently displayed banners honoring the leaders of the two chambers, past and present.
