Leeds United’s Premier League team confirmed on Monday that esse Marsch had been fired as manager.
Leeds United can confirm that head coach Jesse Marsch has been relieved of his duties, the club said in a formal statement.
“Jesse joined the team in February 2022, and on the final day of the previous campaign, he played a crucial role in keeping the team in the Premier League.
The team will also lose Rene Maric, Cameron Toshack, and Pierre Barrieu.
Last year, the 49-year-old Marsch took over as manager after Marcelo Bielsa. The team did not appoint a temporary manager.
“The hiring process for a new head coach is under way, and we’ll keep fans informed over the next few days,” the statement reads.
Leeds is now on a seven-game winless streak, with the most recent game ending in a 0-1 loss away at Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Leeds has 18 points, one more than relegation-threatened Everton, but has a game left to play.
Leeds last claimed a Premier League victory in a 4-3 home victory against Bournemouth in November of last year.
On Wednesday, Leeds will travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United.
