On Monday, the Abuja electrical Distribution Company (AEDC) declared its intention to cut off power to multiple government ministries, departments, and organizations due to unpaid electrical bills amounting to billions of naira.
The impacted ministries, departments, and agencies have 10 days from the date of notice to settle the entire N47.1 billion debt or risk being disconnected, according to the AEDC’s statement.
A few state government liaison offices in Abuja are among those scheduled to be unplugged due to unpaid electricity bills.
Due to unpaid energy bills, at least seventeen state government liaison offices in Abuja are currently in danger of being disconnected.
The impacted state liaison offices and the sum they owe the AEDC are listed below.

4. Rivers state: N15m
5. Kano: N10.5m
6. Plateau: N7.1m
7. Katsina: N3.3m
8. Edo: N2.8m

13. Ondo: N1.4m
