John Henry, owner of Liverpool, has given a strong indication that he and his business, Fenway Sports, are not selling the team in response to allegations that the Reds are being sold.

John Henry claimed in an interview with the Boston Sports Journal that he flatly refused to sell the team when asked about FSG’s plans.

Yet he added that the organization is unquestionably searching for investors for the Premier League team. Is LFC being sold? No. Are we discussing LFC with the investors? Sure, will there be an event there? In the interview, Henry stated, “I think so, but there won’t be a sale.

“I am aware that Liverpool has been the subject of much discussion and quotation, but I will stick to the facts: we only formalized an existing process.

Will we stay in England indefinitely? No. Do we offer Liverpool for sale? No. Are you discussing Liverpool with investors? Yes. Will there be an event there? Although I think so, there won’t be a sale. Have we made any sales in the last twenty years or so?

More will come.
