Arsenal secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, thanks to a late goal from substitute Noni Madueke.

Madueke came on at half-time to replace Eberechi Eze and scored the decisive goal in the 80th minute. After receiving a pass from Declan Rice on the left, the winger beat Daniel Munoz before curling a shot towards goal. A deflection helped the ball find the net and gave Arsenal all three points.

The Arsenal victory extended the Gunners’ winning run to three matches across competitions. They had beaten Leeds United in the Premier League and Lille in the Champions League after suffering a surprising 3-0 defeat to Brighton on 19 September.

Sunday’s result was Arsenal’s sixth win in seven league matches, strengthening their position in the Premier League title race. Although they have struggled to match the consistency that helped them secure their first title in 22 years last season, they continue to find ways to win difficult games.

Madueke’s impact also highlighted Arsenal’s squad depth, as the substitute delivered when his team needed a breakthrough.

Arsenal now face a demanding test against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday before returning to domestic action against Everton next weekend.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest’s poor home form continued. They have managed just two victories in their last 17 league matches at the City Ground.

Manager Oliver Glasner, who took charge during the close season, has recorded only one win in seven top-flight matches. Forest must improve their results if they are to turn their performances into victories.

For Arsenal, Madueke’s late finish provided another reminder that they can secure important points even when their usual attacking fluency is missing.
