President-Bola-Tinubu

Babatunji Wusu –

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally requested the Nigerian Senate to confirm the appointments of seven new ministerial nominees. This announcement was made on Thursday by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who conveyed the request following a letter from President Tinubu.

This development follows a recent cabinet reshuffle in which the president dismissed five ministers and appointed seven new officials. The nominees awaiting Senate approval are:

  • Bianca Odumegu-Ojukwu: Minister of State for Foreign Affairs
  • Nentawe Yilwatda: Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction
  • Maigari Dingyadi: Minister of Labour and Employment
  • Jumoke Oduwole: Minister of Industry
  • Idi Maiha: Minister for the newly established Livestock Development Ministry
  • Yusuf Ata: Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development
  • Suwaiba Ahmad: Minister of State for Education

This cabinet change is significant as it seeks to bolster the administration’s focus on key areas such as foreign affairs, humanitarian efforts, and economic development.
