A man, simply identified as Samuel, has allegedly murdered his friend, one Muhammad Saba for ritual purpose. Samuel was said to have been intercepted at Lambata axis of the Suleja-Minna road by men of the Niger State Police Command on 4th May driving the deceased friend’s vehicle, a Toyota Camry with registration no. ABC 314 KJ along with other suspects. The hoodlums were said to have opened fire on sighting the police, while the police also responded, wounding Samuel in the leg. According to the State Police Command’s Public Relation Officer, DSP Muhammad Dan-Ina Abubakar, who confirmed the development to newsmen on Saturday in Minna, upon searching the vehicle the suspects were traveling in, a fresh human head was discovered. “On 4th may, 2019 at about 0200hrs, acting on an information from a public spirited individual about a stolen vehicle and running towards Lambata axis, a team of Policemen from SARS intercepted the vehicle along Suleja – Lambata road but the hoodlums engaged the Police in a gun duel where one of the hoodlums, later identified as one Samuel ‘m’ of Morocco road, Suleja was shot on the leg while others fled to nearby bush with bullets wounds. “The exhibits Toyota Camry with registration no. ABC 314 KJ ash in colour was recovered. Upon searching the vehicle, a fresh human head inside a bag was recovered from booth of the vehicle”, the Police spokesman said. He said during interrogation, the suspect confessed to have murdered the victim in cold blood and dumped other part of the body in Nasarawa State while he made away with his vehicle. The victim was later identified as Mohammed Saba of Tsaragi area, Suleja. “Investigation revealed that the suspect was a friend to the deceased and were seen together on same date in same vehicle”, DSP Dan-Ina explained. The suspect was said to have been rushed to a hospital where he later died while on admission. He said the manhunt for other suspects in the act, who escaped during the encounter with the police, was on.
